Belaz signs a "Tripartite Agreement" with Belaz-Enrika JV and Voltas Ltd for catering to Indian Mining Companies abroad.

India and Belarus has inked six agreements, including a Roadmap for India-Belarus Cooperation as President Pranab Mukherjee held talks here with Belarusian counterpart Alexander V Lukashenko. Besides the roadmap, the agreements include a protocol amending the agreement between the two sides for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income and on Property (Capital) of September, 27, 1997.

Belaz has established a Joint Venture in India under the name of "Belaz-Enrika Mining Equipments Services Pvt. Ltd." which is a part of 60 year old J.V. Gokal Group of Companies. The main concept behind establishing this joint venture is to provide highly professional after sales service and onĀfield maintenance support for Belaz equipment in India. The joint venture comprises a team of local personnel trained by Belaz experts, providing after sales support to Belaz 120 Ton Dumpers launched in India in 2013, at Bhadravati coal mines. At the moment, there is fortuitous and very potentially fruitful matching of the economic requirements of India in terms of several programmes that have been launched by the government like 'Make in India', skill development, 'Swachh Bharat', 'Digital India' and the smart city urbanisation programme.

A MoU was inked between Bureau of Indian Standards and Belarus' State Committee for Standardization on cooperation in the field of standardization and information support, and another MoU between Prasar Bharati and the National State Television and Radio Company of Belarus (Belteleradiocompany) for cooperation on broadcasting. 'OJSC Belaz' is the flagship government enterprise of Republic of Belarus. Belaz was established in 1950s and today is one of the world leaders in manufacturing heavy duty mining equipment. It has 30% world market share in heavy duty dumpers whereas almost 10,000 such units have been deployed in more than 70 countries worldwide. Belaz equipment is supported by vast network of its dealers. Belaz-Enrika joint venture entered into a "strategic alliance" with Mining and Construction Equipment Division of Voltas Ltd (a Tata Group company) which has more than 30 years of experience in providing after sales support for heavy duty mining equipment.

As a part of recent Indian Presidential delegation to Balarus, OJSC Balaz, Belaz-Enrika joint venture and Voltas Ltd signed a "Tripartite Agreement" with an aim to promote sales and providing after sales support for Belaz equipment to India centric companies involved in mining projects abroad namely, in Asia, Africa and Australia. This agreement will provide the opportunity for Belaz to promote its world class equipment to Indian companies abroad, while ensuring highly qualified after sales service and regular supply of spares through its joint venture and Voltas Ltd, which has the support of Tata International network in these regions. The agreement was signed by Mr. Petr Parkhomchik - Director General OJSC Belaz, Mr.Pradeep Bakshi - CEO Voltas Ltd and Mr. Samar Shakil - CEO Belaz-Enrika Joint Venture during the Business Forum held at Minsk in June this year. This Forum was attended by President of India - Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, President of Belarus - Mr. Alexander Lukashenko and Ministers from both the countries.

Speaking about the plans, Mr. Samar Shakil said "This Tripartite Agreement further strengthens the plans of Belaz to promote its equipment range not only in India but also puts the focus on mining projects driven by Indian companies in other continents. With Voltas becoming a part of this venture, it adds immense value and shall instill the necessary confidence among the end users for after sales support and maintenance of Belaz equipment".
